  Why Go Solar ?

Most electricity is generated from burning fossil fuels, which releases carbon dioxide and other hazardous gases into the atmosphere and contributes to climate change and global warming.
  sunlight
Harnessing the sun’s energy and converting it into electricity, will not only reduce or even eliminate your electricity bills, but at the same time reduce your daily impact on the environment.

Green FrogTM PV (photovoltaic) systems convert light directly into electricity, without generating any waste or harmful greenhouse gases, saving approximately 450kg of carbon dioxide emissions per year for each kW peak installed. (Kilowatt (kW) peak - PV cells are referred to in terms of the amount of energy they generate in full sunlight).

No matter what system size you choose, from day one you’ll be able to benefit from producing clean electricity directly on your own property.

With rapidly depleting international oil stores, a Green FrogTM system will mean that in the future you can protect yourself from the rising cost of energy prices, as well as protecting the environment from carbon emissions.

But the benefits don’t stop there! International studies also show that homebuyers will pay more for your environmentally sound home, making your Green FrogTM Solar system a solid future investment.

  Cloudy Days ?

You can still generate electricity, even on a cloudy day. However the amount of electricity will be reduced. On a light overcast day here will be enough diffuse light to produce about half the electricity output that you would get on a bright sunny day.

How Much Roof Area do you need ?

Green FrogTM specially designed Solar PV panels integrate seamlessly so that your roof looks stunning as well as producing clean and efficient energy.

Typically a 1 kWp system will usually require approximately 10 square metres of unshaded roof area, and for the best results, it should face within 90 degrees of south (from south-east through to south-west) in UK - oppose in Australia. If the roof surface is in shadow for parts of the day, the output of the system decreases.

Can I Sell my Surplus Power ?

Make extra money - become a Clean Energy Provider.
Grid connected systems are most popular for homes and businesses.

Once installed on your roof, an accredited electrician will connect your Green FrogTM Solar PV system to your local electricity network, so that any additional energy you produce can be sold back to the grid.

A grid connected system works in conjunction with your local network, so that if you require more energy than you have generated, electricity is topped up by the grid - instead of your lights suddenly switching off !

Do these systems work in the Cold ?
The cells generate more power at low temperatures. That is they are more efficient when they are cool. However in winter there is less sunlight hours so the output will be less than in summer. Covered with snow the light will be blocked, but once the surface is exposed - snow melts -  and the sunlight hits the cell surface power generation will begin again.

What Maintenance and Cleaning does the system need ?

Green FrogTM Solar panels have no moving parts, are completely silent in operation and require no maintenance. Most of the time rain will keep the modules clean, however if you have pesky birds in the area you may need to clean them with a hose from time to time !

  Is Solar Energy Safe ?

Solar panels are completely safe. The glass doesn’t conduct energy so you can’t be hurt or electrocuted by touching them – even when they are installed and connected. The installation process is the same as for our normal roof tiles and the necessary precautions are taken by our trades people when working on roofs.

The final connection and commissioning of your Green FrogTM Solar PV system is undertaken by an accredited Electrician to ensure the highest degree of safety and quality service.

How Much Electricity can Solar panels produce ?

The size of a Solar PV panel is measured according to the number of electrical units it can produce under ideal conditions.

The smallest system size usually installed on a domestic property is 1 kilowatt peak (kWp). This means that under optimum conditions, the Green FrogTM Solar PV system will produce 1000 watts at any given time.

In the UK, a 1 kWp system is expected to produce at least 750 kWh (kilowatt hours) every year. In comparison, the average 3 bedroom house in the UK uses approximately 3,300 kWh every year. Therefore a 2 kWp Green FrogTM Solar System will produce nearly half of these electrical requirements – as well as reducing the amount of harmful carbon dioxide you create by around 650 kgs!

So with a life span of around 25 years, a 2kWp
Green FrogTM Solar System will generate around 37,500 kWh and avoid almost 16,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions being leaked into the atmosphere – and you thought you couldn’t do anything about global warming!
